As You Lay Your Head Down To Rest, Don’t Forget Your Memory Foam Pillow

Sleep is a critical part of human health. Without sleep, our bodies would not be able to regenerate, our immune systems would weaken, our brains would not be able to reprocess anything, and our energy levels would plummet. This means that without sleep, we would age faster, get ill more often, remember less, and eventually collapse. It is so vital; our bodies shut themselves down to prevent further damage if not given enough sleep. With something so important, mankind has sought ways to improve sleep. This has lead to many innovations like memory foam pillow and mattress.

You might have a great mattress that does everything to help you sleep better. Maybe it is even made of memory foam, that great new material that shapes itself to the contours of your body. Memory foam was originally intended for spacecraft and aircraft cushions. Though it never made it into the space program, memory foam became the darling of the medical community. Memory foam is great because it shapes itself to follow the curves of your body. This means a reduction of pressure on bony regions like the shoulders hips, and heels -- meaning free blood flow and lower likelihood of pressure sores. Being proportionally responsive to the weight on it, memory foam pillow allows the body to rest in more natural position -- keeping the spine straight, and everything else in pretty much optimal alignment. It does this by responding to the heat of your body; the more heat, the softer it is. With so many things going well for memory foam, it has become the big thing in mattresses. The thing is, even with a memory foam pillow and mattress, your neck and head still in danger of resting in uncomfortable positions.

When sleepers lay on their sides, the difference in depth between the head and neck and the shoulders is significant. Without a pillow, the lack of support would lead to pain in the neck, general difficulty getting to sleep and in staying asleep. Pillows are not made equal, however, and many pillows do not provide the optimal level of support. Memory foam pillow is the solution.

A memory foam pillow, like a memory foam mattress, also molds itself to the shape of the head that lays on it. Some sleepers who sleep with their heads to one side find a dull pain in their earlobes and the sides of their heads after long periods of sleep. This is because their pillows are too hard. Using pillows that are soft alleviates this problem, but they don’t provide much support either. With memory foam pillows, you get the right amount of support, with pressure distributed evenly across the entire surface in contact with it. The possibility of stiff necks is also significantly reduced. Best of all, the quality of sleep you get will improve the effects of the sleep, making you more energetic the following day.

As you lay your head down to rest on a memory foam pillow, let it cushion your head and send you into a good night’s sleep. Rest well and wake up refreshed!
